Biography: Annemarie Pantazis was born September 12, 1973 in
Washington, D.C. She grew up in Stafford, Virginia, and earned a degree
in government from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg,
Virginia in 1994. After graduating from college, she moved back to the
Washington, D.C. area and worked for a contractor at the National
Institutes of Health installing and managing computer networks. She
moved to Winston-Salem in 1996 to attend law school at Wake Forest
University. While at Wake Forest, she was a published member of the Wake
Forest Law Review and served as Chief Justice of the Wake Forest Moot
Court Board. She participated in the Wake Forest study abroad program
where she studied the common law system in London and the continental
law system in Venice. After receiving her law degree in 1999, Ms.
Pantazis joined the firm of Cranfill, Sumner & Hartzog, L.L.P. in
Charlotte, North Carolina where she represented the interests of
insurance companies and employers in workers' compensation claims and
civil litigation. In 2002, Ms. Pantazis left the defense side to devote
her practice to representing those who have suffered work related and
other injuries in North Carolina. She is certified by the North Carolina
State Bar as a specialist in workers' compensation law. She is a
frequent lecturer and author of several articles in the area of workers'
compensation law.
Ms. Pantazis' interests include traveling and sports. She was the
captain of her college rugby team and earned All-State honors at her
position. She is an avid football fan and enjoys flag football,
softball, and running.
